11th Annual World Fireknife Dance Competition

On May 17, 2003 representatives of Kalena's Polynesian 'Ohana attended and participated in the 11th Annual World Fireknife Dance Competition in Laie, HI at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Mikaele Oloa entered in the Intermediate division along with fourteen other contestants. The competition was so exciting and awesome! As soon as the competition was over we could not wait for next year. Next time we'll have to do much more fundraising seeing that more students want to come over. The picture on the left is of Mika eating the fire while he was performing his routine. Congratulations once again for winning second place, Mika!

Special Thanks To:

All the students of Kalena's Polynesian 'Ohana for all of the fundraising you all did to help Mika get to Laie!
