About the Instructors

Isitolo and Evelyn Oloa
Lead Directors / Owners

The group originated in Waialua, Hawaii in 1986. Entertaining for many occassions, the group participated in various Christmas craft fairs, The Fourth of July celebrations, and local church bazaars. The dancers were also known as the World Pacific Dancers in the 1988 "Wave of the Future" World Pacific Wrestling Show.

In 1989, Isitolo and Evelyn Oloa moved to Pittsburgh, PA to become choreographers and cast members of "Hawaii in Pittsburgh" located in Pittsburgh, PA. The show brought in thousands of people from the eastern United States as well as Canada, bringing memories of the Polynesian islands to many. In 1996, the home base for "Hawaii in Pittsburgh" was sold and the cast members continued entertaining for river boat shows, dinner theatres and private parties.

In 1998, Isitolo and Evelyn Oloa moved to Orlando, FL. With a whole new group, they continue what they had started in Hawaii.

Charlene Oloa
Web Mistress / Assistant Instructor/Musician/Choreographer / Lead Dancer

Charlene is the eldest child of Evelyn and Isitolo Oloa and has been dancing since the age of 3 when she began to learn dance from her mother and father in Waialua. After the move to Pittsburgh, she became a cast member for 6 years in the seasonal, "Hawaii in Pittsburgh" held at Conley's Inn Dinner Theatre.

She assists in Polynesian dance instruction, choreography, music, costume design and is a lead toere player. She is also the group's web master and photographer.


Salamasina Oloa
Assistant Instructor / Choreographer / Lead Dancer / Costume Design / Photography & Film / Polynesian Supplies

Salamasina is the second child of Evelyn and Isitolo Oloa and has been dancing since the age of 3. She has been a cast member for 8 years of the seasonal "Hawaii in Pittsburgh" and has won several first place awards in Tahitian, Hula, Poi's and Costume Design--her new passion.

She assists in Polynesian dance instruction, choreography, advanced costume design, private classes, and owns the 1st Polynesian Supply Store in Orlando, Florida. She is also a coordinator for Kalena's film and photography.


Mikaele Oloa
Assistant Instructor / Lead Musician / Lead Dancer

Mikaele is the third child of Evelyn and Isitolo Oloa. He has begun dancing at a young age and is most known for his accomplishement of becoming the 2005 and 2006 World Fire Knife Dance Champion in Laie, HI. At the age of 15, he was and is still the youngest competitor to have ever won the title and has capabilities of dancing with up to four fire knives! This is an ability he has picked up at the age of 5 when he began training with his father, another competitive fire knife dancer. He has also been a cast member of the seasonal "Hawaii in Pittsburgh".

He assists in Polynesian dance instruction, choreography, music and is a lead toere, faatete, and pahu lima player.
