BIOGRAPHY
Mikaele
is the third child of Evelyn and Isitolo Oloa. He began dancing
at a young age and is most known for his accomplishement of becoming
the 2005 and 2006 World Fire Knife Dance Champion in Laie, HI.
At the age of 15, he is still the youngest competitor to have
ever won the title and has capabilities of dancing with up to
four fire knives! This is an ability he has picked up at the age
of 5 when he began training with his father,Isitolo, another competitive
fire knife dancer.
He
has been a cast member of the seasonal "Hawaii in Pittsburgh"
and has been a professional fire knife dancer for "Kalena's
Polynesian Revue," "Lami's Polynesian Show" as
well as many others. He has also performed exhibitions for many
Polynesian events such as the "Heiva i Orlando," the
"Hura Tahiti" in Garden Grove, CA, the Kaua'i Polynesian
Festival as well as the Polynesian Cultural Center for their show,
"Horizons."
He
currently assists Kalena's Polynesian 'Ohana in Polynesian dance
instruction, choreography, music and is a lead in Tahitian music
and composition. His dream is to travel the world and share his
love of his culture to everyone.
